Latest Wedding

Here are the glasses that were selected by Vanessa and Justin. Venessa selected the champagne glasses and the champagne flutes for her wedding on the 10/10/10. She also selected the colour purple. Justin selected electric blue, a man's colour.The two shot glasses were made into beer candles and scented with Sandalwood fragrance.

Almost finished. The Gel candles have all been poured and now wait to cool before the wicks are trimmed and stickers placed under base. The next step is to apply the names and date to each of the Gel candles.

Champagne glasses for the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom. Purple colour and Frangapani fragrance were added to the Gel for these candles.

The perfect gift for the Fathers. These Beer Shot Glasses were coloured to look like the real thing. Sandalwood fragrance was added during the heating process.

Here we have two champagne glasses. One each for the Bride and Groom. The Brides glass is purple with Frangipani fragrance added. The Grooms glass is electric blue in colour to which Madori fragrance was added.

Frog Candle

This Gel Candle is made in a glass cup. The top of the cup is cut away to a slight angle. A ceramic green frog and a small ceramic turtle are placed on a bed of sand. Gardenia fragrance has been added to clear Gel and poured into the Glass mug. This is a great candle for those that love to collect frogs.

Butterfly Vase

This Gel Candle is made in a vase that stands about 8" tall. It has a yellow butterfly on flowers sitting on a bed of coloured stone. The clear Gel is scented with Carnation fragrance.

2010

Time has come for an up-date to our blog. The new market year is about to start for us and the candle maker has been hard at work creating new master pieces.

LittleChild Range

This Gel Candle features a baby figurine on a bed of small stone. Clear Gel has been poured first and after it has cooled a very soft yellow Gel has been used to top up the glass. Both lots of Gel have "Baby Powder" fragrance added. I love it, has to be my favourite Fragrance. Burning time for this is approx 60+ hrs, that is if you want to burn it. Remember, we do refill all of our candles if you require.

Beer Range

Here you see our new range of Beer Gel Candles. The candle maker sure pours a fine beer. All our life like beer candles are available in "citronella" or "sandalwood" to help keep the outdoor insects at bay. Burning time ranges from 60+ hrs down to 15+ hrs.

Special Jars

Look at these, what a great gift for that special person in your life. These cute little fairies sit on the stopper of the Gel Candle jar. Great colours and each is scented with its own special fragrance. Burning time approx 18 hrs.

Two fine cocktail glasses that have been filled with coloured Gel to which a fragrance has been added. Fragrance such as "strawberry daiquiri", "midori melon"or "champagne" can be added.

Wine Glass

Here we have a number of wine glasses that have been made into Gel Candles. Each has its own colour and fragrance. A nice candle that will last for approx 20 hrs.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
Well better late than never I guess....... I know it is March, but out New Year of Craft Markets is about to begin. The Candle maker and I have had a nice 4 mths off. We missed the last market (December) that was held on the Strand in Townsville. We were stranded in Bangkok at the time. Well I guess you can't help bad luck.
Next weekend we begin out year of markets with Balgal Beach (north of Townsville) on Saturday and then we are off to Charters Towers on Sunday. The first market we will attend here in Townsville will be the night Markets at Riverside at the end of March.

Hope to see all our old customers and heaps of new customers this year.......

Another Wedding

Our trip to markets in Cairns and Port Douglas was made worthwhile when we were asked to price Gel Candles for a wedding. The young lass selected shot glasses as thank you gifts for her guests, wine glasses as centre pieces for each of the tables at the reception, and twisted stem glasses for the ceremony.


The Gel for each Candle was coloured pink to match Bridesmaid's dresses. The shot glasses had Rose fragrance added to them. The wine glasses and the twisted stem glasses that were used for the ceremony were scented with sandalwood fragrance. Both names and date were added to each Gel Candle.

Kate & Chris

Kate and Chris used our candles for their special day. They were married in Cairns on the 8th of the 8th of 2008. We thank Kate for trusting Troppo Gel Candles to supply the Gel Candles for the ceremony, the tables at the reception and also as personal gifts for the guests.
We hope you both have a long, happy life together.

Fairy Gel Candle

Here we have a small ceramic fairy which has been placed on a bed of sand over which rose scented clear Gel was poured. When this cooled a top of blue coloured Gel was poured. This left a pale blue glow through the whole of the candle. Looks great and smells like a bunch of roses.

Tea light Gel Candles

We are now making "Tea light Gel Candles". These tea lights are available in many colours and fragrances. They burn for up to 4 hours and our most popular fragrance is sandalwood. This fragrance keeps away the mossies and sand flies. The cost for each of these is just .50cents. If you return the cup to us we will refill them for around .30cents each..

Welcome to 2008

Welcome to the 2008 market season. We only travel to craft markets during the cooler months here in North Queensland. We started our year on the first Friday of April at the night markets on the Strand here in Townsville. Followed by the first Saturday out at Balgal Beach. This is a great friendly market, small, but well attended.
We travelled to Port Douglas during May to attend there markets. We found them crowded, but well attended and we had a great weekend.
We attended a craft market at Home Hill which was organised by the ladies of the Uniting Church. It was out second visit and we will be there next year. we only had a small area to set up so we could not show all of our candles. The above pic is of the candle maker and myself. At least you are spared the horror of seeing my face..

The last market for 2007 was held at Mt. Low / Bushland Beach. Only a few k's out of Townsville, it is just a great Sunday morning drive. The market only new, but will be the place to be in 2008.

CHRISTMAS CANDLES

What a great Christmas present for that special person in your life. These tall glasses have the stems filled with coloured sand, a glass Christmas figure is placed on the sand and covered with clear Gel to which your favourite fragrance has been added.

Here we have a long stem glass. the stem is filled with red, green and white sand. A glass Christmas tree is placed on the sand. The clear Gel is then heated, your favourite fragrance added and then poured into the glass. This is a very nice candle and a perfect gift for Christmas.

Here we have another Christmas Gel Candle. The stem of the glass is filled with red and green coloured sand and a glass reindeer is placed on the sand. The clear Gel is scented with your favourite scent and poured over. A great Christmas present.

STEMMED TEALIGHT HOLDER

These long stemmed tea light holders were filled with coloured GEL. The GEL is scented with lavender fragrance. They look very nice and are sold as a pair.

COFFEE CUP AQUARIUMS

The candle maker placed sand in the bottom of these small coffee cups and a small glass fish. She then poured clear GEL into the cup.The GEL has had rose fragrance added and the top of each glass has another colour added. A very nice candle.

MERMAID SISTERS

Here are two more of our mermaid GEL candles. They are both the same as their sister above.

MERMAID GEL CANDLE

Here we have a fancy edged bowl. We have added coloured sand to the bottom, a star fish and of course our coloured mermaid. We poured clear Gel, that was scented with SPRING RAIN fragrance, into the bowl to cover our little mermaid.

MILK SHAKES

Here we have a nice frosted glass that has been filled with coloured GEL and fragrance added to make them look like milk shakes. Each milkshake has a glass straw. Our milkshakes come in strawberry (pink colour & strawberry scented) and chocolate (brownish colour & chocolate scented). Both of our shakes do really smell like the real thing.. yummy, i can taste them now..

THE TROPPO GEL CANDLE WORKROOM

This is how the work room looks after a GEL candle making session. These are new creations that are being made, but a lot of these new candles never make it out of this room. If the candle maker does not like the finished product, she just removes the GEL and starts again. No GEL candle leaves this room if the boss is not happy with it.

A few of the GEL candles that have been produced . We have had a busy year so far, but the chief candle maker keeps coming up with new creations each day.

WILLY the Whale

This is a great candle. Here we have a 8 sided glass bowl with sand, rocks and shells placed on the bottom. We have then added some small fish and a black whale on a stand. The glass is then filled with GEL to which ocean fragrance has been added. This candle will burn for up to 40 hours.

PUSS in GEL

Here we have a tall wine glass that has a ceramic cat placed inside and then a wick is inserted and then filled with clear GEL. A nice gift for a person that loves cats.

COLD DRINK

New fragrance has been added to our collection. We now have Pepsi Cola fragrance. These GEL CANDLES are made to look like a glass of ice cold Pepsi Cola, right down to the ice in the glass. Almost like the real thing.

CHRISTMAS CANDLE

Here is our first Christmas candle to come from the GEL CANDLE "factory". Gay has found this long glass and filled it part way with different coloured sand topped with a reindeer and scented with cinammon and apple... Smells good enough to eat..

SLEEPING BABE

Look at this sweet GEL CANDLE. SHHHH don't wake her.. a sleeping baby on a bed of sand in clear gel with the fragrance of baby powder added. perfect gift for the new mother..

This GEL candle is set in a round glass dish on a bed of white sand. Glass stones and some small animals are scattered over the sand. A glass of small flowers highlight the GEL candle. This candle has 2 wicks so it can be burnt evenly.

OUR FIRST WEDDING GEL CANDLES

We made these GEL CANDLES as decorations for wedding tables. The glass has a bed of green sand and several sea shells were placed on this bed of sand. The GEL is clear and scented coconut. As you will see from the following pics, the finished product was awesome.
